Default Bad Girl...a moment of your time please...

Please ensure you have the following items on hand by 2pm.

Milk, bread, eggs....liquor.

Candles

a phone and/or radio that doesn't need electricity.

warm fuzzy socks

first aid supplies in the event you or someone in your house hold walk into something in the dark

ummmmm I think that's everything.

You've lived at the beach so long...I thought you might forget what snow does to these mountains....

Here's your forecast at this time -

Quote:
Tonight: Snow. Low around 26. Southeast wind at 6 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.

Saturday: Sleet before 10am, then snow and sleet between 10am and 1pm, then snow likely after 1pm. High near 29. East wind between 6 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
We're expecting close to the same - minus the sleet.

Put chains on your tires or keep your *** at home.

This concludes this special announcement of the Lady J broadcasting network.....

Thanks, LJ...yeah, we always prepare for omelettes, heehee...though Jas hates eggs...gonna have to hit the liquor store soon, so I can come play drunk Poker later, if the power stays on...have candles, 2 furry dogs and a cat...Jas is heading back to Chastown tomorrow if the roads are clear to make some dough, so left to my own devices (heehee...get that one?) for the weekend. No chains for the tires. so stuck...kid has 4 wheel drive tho, so can call her up as needed....yeah, not the best planned move that I have ever made, for sure, but glad to be here, nonetheless....Phone..hmmm..have one of those old Princess things around here somewhere....have GREAT neighbors, too, they sure have pulled me out of enough ditches over the years, so should be fine!

Winter Storm Warning for the Northern-half of Arkansas. Winter Weather Advisory for Southern Arkansas.

A mixture of freezing rain, sleet and snow will build back into central Arkansas by the middle part of the day, with heavier snow possible north. Up to a foot of snow could fall in northeastern Arkansas by Saturday morning.
Significant icing is possible in central Arkansas with up to .75" of freezing rain and sleet and then a coating on an inch or two of snow on top of that by late tonight early Saturday.

Friday: 90 percent freezing rain and with sleet with snow in the afternoon and evening. High 32. Total accumulations .75" of freezing rain and sleet/ up to 1" to 2" inches of snow.

Friday Night: Snow likely. Low mid-20s. Chance of snow 80%.

This doesn't happen in Arkansas. Flooding interstates and now frozen ones. I have a bachelor pad so the ramen noodle and pizza don't cook over candlelight I'm afraid.

Would you believe I have tried calling one in for lunch and "no deliveries until roads clear". UGH! The roads are bad though already and we have another 24 hours of it or so. Freezing rain sucks.

Well in Arkansas we have such little snow or winter weather that if we even get a light dusting, the entire state shuts down. It makes for the perfect excuse for ppl to take a 3rd day extra for the weekend. Haha.

Ha ha yeah everywhere handles things differently. There is no real need to provide a service for such an event as it cost valuable tax dollars to supply that service.

I am from Ohio so we get enough snow to offset the cost of the vehicles the man hours. All of the salt needed. Pretty much everything that is involved with the removal of snow. I have drove in some pretty bad weather before. It was mainly for fun. This is the only time of year I can make my front wheel drive car drift around the corners. In case you don't know. When there is enough snow on the ground to make you slide while stopping. Just approach the corner and pull on your E-brake as you are turning the corner. Fun things happen when you do. I suggest practicing in an empty parking lot to do this so you know what to expect from your car when you try it on the road.

When a car drifts on the rear wheel drive on a dry surface. It is because the back tires a moving faster then the front. Causing it to slide. You must counter steer to keep the car from spinning out.

front wheel drive can drift on snow. This happens because the rear wheels are locked and the snow is causing the car to slide more. Say you are taking a right turn and pull your E-brake. The rear of your car with slide to the left. You will have to counter steer to make sure your car does not spin out.

I do highly recommend you learn how to drive in a empty parking lot before attempting any kind of driving in the snow to make sure you know how to handle your car. Ending up on the side of the road can not be much fun I am sure.
